A Second Chance: Gridiron Gang
Gridiron Gang, starring Dwayne Johnson, is about a bunch of delinquent 16 and 17 year olds that have committed serious crimes. The young adults are in a detention center, but it is a lot less strict than jail. Johnson, who is the supervisor of the criminals, is having trouble getting through to them and changing their lives. So, he starts up a football team. Did I mention this is actually a true story? Anyways, the football team goes through lots of training and Johnson drills them, in an attempt to better their lives.
You get to experience the team’s entire season. They have their rivals and their star halfback. Overall, it was a good movie, but it seemed to get a bit too deep at times. What I did like about this movie was the dialog, it was extremely real. I’m glad they didn’t take the Disney approach and make the team out to sound like a bunch of 4th graders. Being a true story and all, it was a bit inspirational. Pick this movie up if you are a fan of these kinds of movies. It’s a good watch.
